Agence

Profile

W-Architectures is an architecture, urban planning and design agency. Founded in 2002, its team of architects have extensive international experience.

The agency designs precise, simple and understated architecture which draws on the context and specific features of each project. The agency’s work is rooted in organising an idea to give each project a rigorous perspective and to allow the essentials to emerge.

Based in France and Switzerland, it has developed knowledge and skills in complex project management, and it has recognised expertise in architecture, urban planning, restoration, museography and design. It has stood out over the years through its unique and demanding approach. In addition to its participation in various international competitions, it has designed some critically-acclaimed projects such as the Ingres museum storerooms in Montauban, a housing programme in Foix, the Château de Bournazel restoration, the International Prehistory Centre in Eyzies-de-Tayac and the Glass Museum in Sars Poterie.

François Barré wrote the following about the agency: “it is confronted with the material [...] and the architecture plays its part”.

W-Architectures’ regularly published work has been distinguished several times and acclaimed internationally.
