Town Hall, FR- Le Haillan, 2022
Town Hall
In a heterogeneous urban context, the installation of this new building must both assert its presence and its vocation. Our project is the result of a contextual and singular questioning of the possible resonances between the history of Le Haillan, the potential of this place and the underlying energies of a programme. This ambition is part of a very careful reading of the site, its components and the opportunities it offers.
Our project to rehabilitate and design the town hall is part of a process to improve the living environment of a territory marked by strong development. This project is part of a new narrative of urban landscape and promotes the actuality of an environment oriented towards modernisation of services to the population. It reflects the strong desire of Le Haillan to provide its inhabitants with easy access and relationship to public service: a vector of social cohesion, that offers, for instance, green paths and outdoor conviviality areas. The rehabilitation of the existing town hall will not be limited to a strictly technical or functional upgrade, but will also aim at improving its visibility, will tend to identify it as a public facility and to make it a strong signal with its own identity.
