French National Hydrometeorological and Flood Forecasting Centre - SCHAPI
FR - Toulouse, 2014, Bureaux, Réalisé
At first glance, the Météo France site looks like an “open” space, without a notable gradient, where there are multiple buildings. The wooded vegetation has flourished over time, and the fluid spaces gives the building a unique feel, despite the unusual features of the existing architecture. This is an interesting feature which supports our project. In this context and given the project established for SCHAPI, we wanted a building which could be discovered in two stages: at site level, it appears like an element amongst the others, but composed with the neighbouring building, in a second stage, on the approach, it establishes its independence, allowing it to stand alone as a unique building.
