Alsace Archeology, Research and Conservation Centre
FR - Sélestat, 2016, Bureaux, Réalisé
The centre is located on a plot drawing on the wooded countryside which still shapes the landscape. Drawing on this heritage, backed onto a loop of the Ill which encloses the land to the east, the building is largely north-facing for wonderful views over the old city. Playing with topography, our building offers a structure which seems to emerge from the land and reflects the old fortifications of Vauban. The fragmented nature and chosen layout meet two objectives: offering buildings which reflect the existing landscape and faithfully reflecting the functional arrangement.
