Departmental Handicap Centre
The scheme we developed is expressed as a public space that " infiltrates " the heart of the new building and gives a new impetus to the whole site. The new building, with a simple ground floor, as close as possible to the natural terrain and the Boulevard Jean Moulin, opens onto the site. It reinforces the existing axis that leads to the entrance of the MDDS building, creating a pedestrian path that allows visitors to easily find their way around and to link the different buildings on the location. In this context, the building is discovered in two stages. On the one hand, on the scale of the overall site, it can be seen as a strong signal at the entrance and exit of the city in the urban landscape composition. On the other hand, on closer inspection, it acquires an autonomy that allows it to be read as a building with the status of a public facility, the starting point for routes through the site.
