The circular form of the market hall was natural; an emblematic and elementary form, modest and yet singular within the organic structure of the old centre.  The hall connects with the site through its timeless expression, the lightness of its volume, and the quality of the materials it is made of: a roof made of copper scales, an elaborate metal framework, an oak panel ceiling, arched cast iron gates, and a floor made of large limestone slabs.

The hall hosts the town's major weekly market. It is also a place for shows, a break in the daily routine of the city. At night, the play of lights transcends the volume of the hall into the urban environment. A fountain provides a little freshness in the summer.

All public spaces in the historic centre are made out of noble, natural and sustainable materials: stone calades and flamed slabs from Limeyrat quarries, Comblanchien stone edges. Some surfaces are treated with anthracite-tinted pebble concrete.  A pedestrian plateau is designed around the two major buildings in the town centre: the church and the hall.  The trees provides light shade to the place.
