The National Archives
The Soubise and Rohan hotels, built by the architect Delamair in the early 16th century, were acquired by Napoleon I to house the Archives of the Nation. These two mansions, among the most beautiful in the Marais, required restoration work, particularly on the roof (Soubise), interior structures (Rohan) and the courtyard of Guise with the renovation of the lower areas. The main renovation work was as follows: restoration of the roof structure and roof of the Hôtel de Soubise including restoration of the painted plaster vault, restoration of the peristyle of the Hôtel de Soubise (metal roof, stone column), and restoration of the Cour de Guise (drainage, replanting of trees, stone paving, etc.). A consolidation ceiling structures of the Grand Salon Doré and the Chinese Salon of the Hôtel de Rohan was also carried out. Finally, we restored the Salon du Prince and the Salons Oppenord of the Hôtel d'Assy (management offices) and installed contemporary offices. Previously, the façades of the Grands Dépôts and the courtyard and peristyle of the Hôtel de Soubise had also been renovated.
