The aim of the project is to build a reserve for regional heritage collections, the treasures of Brittany. Our goal is to create a modern-day sanctuary, a remarkable building from an era that has become aware of the importance of its history, its culture and the need to preserve its material legacy, as fragile or specific may this be.

As a protective shelter, the building is, in the archaeological sense, itself a treasure, supposed to protect but also to embody the care & attention our societies show for cultural goods. The building we propose is a mineral monolith lying along the road leading to the Rennes metropolis. Its mass is built with earth concrete extracted locally, on the site itself. This is an environmental and contextual choice, a meaningful way to ground the project in its territory.
