Primary school Rosa Bonheur
Today, we aim at questioning the concept of school itself, no longer as an exclusive place for the transmission of knowledge and socialisation, but as an innovative environment at the service of more cooperative pedagogies and promoting the "better living" together. Designing a place for everyone, proposing an environment suitable for learning from the youngest age, favourable to encounters and exchanges, these are the concerns that led our reflection for the Chemin Long school. The figure we designed, which symbolically closes itself off from the city, is intended to generate a unitary and reassuring principle that opens onto a reassuring and comfortable interior, where learning will be friendly and serene. We propose a reinterpretation of Gironde stone, and a new model of sustainable building: a dense building, with a thick and durable façade echoing the existing Gironde schools built in solid stone. The façade is composed of a system of solid stone from local quarries. This "stone lace" is expressed either by means of a classical or moucharabieh pattern.
